They don’t seem to care about that weekend getaway or 7 nights of romance, they will find you. Even if your eyes gets bloodshot like you haven’t slept in 5 days or maybe your nose becomes red like Rudolph, Modern Domestic has the three things you should do to prevent an allergies reaction while traveling.

Worst Case Scenario, be prepared

Just in case you can’t seem to avoid those pesty allergens, bring all medication need in cause of a reaction. You know just to be on the safe side bring a little more than you need. In some situations if you’re traveling have a doctor write out the medications you need and bring unopened meds in a container with your name on it. Show it to your plane assistants and you will be able to have your medications carried on a plane with you.

Be careful of what you eat

There are so many dishes, so many languages, so many times your may be confused. So if you’re in doubt of what your food consist of or potentially consist of, just don’t eat it. Before you get to your destination do some research of potential places you want to dine.

Voice your allergies

Tell everyone! Your flight attendant, your hotel front desk person, even the lady in the aisle seat that keeps talking about her lovely (allergy covered) dog. Let people know so they ate aware just in case you need some assistance.

Now I know you can’t travel without your allergies, but don’t let it stop you from traveling to your favorite places. Be prepared and you will surly show those allergens what you’re made of.
