Traveling with kids can be an adventurous and memorable experience. It can also be an overwhelming experience if our child skipped over a nap or we forgot a really important item such as a pacifier. Follow this guide that will ensure a smooth sailing flight.
Packing: Packing for more than one person can be quite a challenge. So to ensure less of a headache, pack early. Packing early helps you to not forget anything and keeps you organized. When packing for your littles ones, make sure to pack double for those little accidents. Also remember to double up on pampers and pull-ups. You don’t want to stop the fun to go to a store.
Food: Plane flights can be very long and it can run into lunch time. Now a days flights only serve small snacks. So to avoid a grumpy toddler, pack room temperature snacks. Such as pigs in a blanket or sandwiches. If you don’t have time to make them, purchase food before boarding the plane. Also pack their favorite snacks to keep them occupied. Remember to pack empty sippy cup. For your smaller kids pack bottles with the powder in them and either purchase water or ask for water on the plane. You may also bring liquids onto the plane for your baby or toddler, it just have to be 3.4 ounces. Which is good, so you don’t have to throw away your breast milk or toddlers juice. Just tell the security so they can check it.
Entertainment: Depending on your destination, flights can be very long. So to prepare you and your child for a long flight have these things on hand for an easy trip. First item would be a portable DVD player. Bring a couple of movies that you don’t mind watching over and over. Second item is coloring books, nothing like a big distraction than coloring. Third item is an IPAD loaded with games for them to play.
Also depending on the airline that you are flying with, check in when you get to the airport. Most airlines, if you check in online, will give you different seating arrangements. So to ensure everyone sits together, check in at the gate. Flight crew will be more than happy to keep the babies with mom and dad for the comfort of everyone.
