Traveling With Pets: The Do’s & Dont’s

What is a family vacation without your fury little animals. It can get costly sending your fury kids to daycare and leaving them home is a big no-no. There is a lot that goes on with traveling with your pets, you want to ensure that they are comfortable and safe.

DO’S:

  • If traveling by car, prepare your pet with frequent car rides so he/she can get use to the longer car ride
  • Double check your hotel arrangements to make sure they accept pets and to see if there is an additional fee
  • Check your airlines requirements and restrictions for the safety of your pet and others
  • Before traveling, get your pet up to date with all of his shots and get copies of their medical records
  • Bring enough food that will last
  • Bring a crate
  • Have leash on at all times

Don’ts:

  • Don’t forget to bring identification such as; collar id tag and medical records
  • Don’t leave your pet in the car on those very hot days
  • Don’t forget your first aid kit
  • Don’t forget to remind the flight attendant and other employees at the airport
  • Don’t leave your pet out and unattended
